In the app, which is instant
Settings, then Delete my account. It asks once and then it is done.
By email, if you cannot get into the app
Write from the address on the account and say which handle. We do it within 30 days and normally the same day.
What goes
- Your account, your handle and your email
- Your photo
- Your clips
- Your favourites and anybody you blocked
- Any line you wrote that has not been said yet, refunded first
What we have to keep, and for how long
Two things outlive the account, and neither is optional:
- Records of money. Payments, refunds and payouts are kept for seven years because tax law says so. They are kept against the transaction, not against a profile.
- A record that a report was handled, where somebody reported something and we acted on it. Deleting that would let the same thing happen again with nobody able to see it had happened before.
Clips other people paid for
If you were the NPC in somebody else's clip, that clip belongs to the person who paid for it and deleting your account does not delete theirs. If you want a specific video taken down, use the takedown form and say which one.
